.....This is the favorite painting of my watercolorist friend,
Jo Gershman. It was a complete experiment,
using a spray bottle and salt, and just going with the flow – not easy to do in watercolor.
I ended up lifting the tree trunks out of the dark interior space, subconsciously harking back
to childhood fairy tales. Just letting go, getting into a Zen mode of submitting to the medium,
can sometimes yield surprising results.
